The video shows the use and laying recommendations of the 4 mm thick porcelain stoneware slabs for Abisko SLIM/4 floor and wall tiling.
There are two laying methods for the Abisko SLIM/4 line: laying on existing floor and wall tiling.
The SLIM/4 slabs are ideal for tiling the surfaces of existing floors in domestic or commercial premises, with light traffic. When laying on existing floor it is necessary to arrange joints of at least 2 mm on the single size.
Before laying the 4 mm thick porcelain stoneware slabs, verify that the substrate has a flat surface; if not, level the surface in question. Adhesives for porcelain stoneware must be used as glue between the new tiles and the substrate surface, choosing the best type according to the nature of the existing floor.
Below are the instructions for laying the Abisko SLIM/4 slabs on an existing floor:
- lay the adhesive full-bed on to the floor using trowels with 6 mm tilted teeth;
- apply the glue on to the rear of the porcelain stoneware slabs using a trowel with 3 mm flat teeth;
- once the 4 mm thick porcelain stoneware slab has been placed, accurately tap the surface with a rubber trowel for full adherence;
SLIM/4 can also be used to tile walls in homes, public buildings or premises, indoor. It is ideal for laying over old tiles and restructured walls.
Joints of at least 1 mm thick must be arranged for the wall tiling. Before laying the porcelain stoneware slabs, verify that the substrate has a flat surface; if not, level the surface in question. Adhesives for porcelain stoneware must be used as glue, choosing the best type according to the nature of the support.
Below are the instructions for the laying of the Abisko SLIM/4 slabs on indoor walls of homes, public buildings or premises:
- using a 4 mm trowel lay the adhesive on to the support;
- apply the tiling slabs;
- for full adherence, tap against the surface with a rubber trowel;
The SLIM/4 4 mm thick porcelain stoneware slabs are especially recommended for installation on existing floors. In case of laying on new screeds, ensure the substrate is compact, homogenous and correctly levelled and that it has been sufficiently seasoned.
During the laying of the SLIM/4 line slabs of Rex Ceramiche Artistiche, all existing expansion joints on the substrate and on the walls must be respected.
This line of tiles can be used where there is no passing of heavy point loads, like the transit of trolleys with hard wheels.
