Laying techniques

The video explains the practical use of the laying techniques of the Abisko SLIM/4 slabs on existing floors.
Laying techniques, Abisko SLIM/4 slabs, tiling of existing floor, porcelain stoneware slabs, made to measure ceramic slabs

The video starts by showing us the kitchen of an apartment where the floor has already been tiled with Abisko SLIM/4 tiles, the 4 mm thick porcelain stoneware slabs. The work has just been completed and it can be seen how it has been cared for in detail.

But how has this result been obtained? By rewinding the video we can see the various stages of the works carried out by the Florim ceramic company technicians.

The Florim staff arrives at the apartment to lay the new tiles on the existing floor.

They firstly arrange joints of at least 2 mm on the single size. They then check that the existing floor is correctly levelled. They eliminate any baseboards in the room.

They now evenly lay the glue both on the floor to be tiled and on the ceramic slabs to be applied on to the old tiles.

To lay the glue on the floor they use trowels with 6 mm tilted teeth whereas, to apply the glue on to the rear of the porcelain stoneware slabs, they use a trowel with 3 mm flat teeth. The technicians carefully choose the glue for porcelain stoneware after having carefully evaluated the type of existing flooring.

They lay the slabs on to the floor and tap the tiles with a rubber trowel to ensure adhesion all over.

The video shows the careful attention to detail of the Florim Ceramiche staff. They carefully take measurements and cut the slabs to size, making them suitable for every need. The baseboards are also obtained by cutting the slabs for colour evenness.

Those choosing the Abisko SLIM/4 line of the Rex Ceramiche Artistiche trademark significantly reduce times and the typical discomforts of restructuring. Using this line of tiles also avoids the costs of removing and disposing of the existing floors.
